There are many celebration in Japan throughout the calendar year. This past August 2022, Ruth and Patrick Horan from Beauharnois Quebec visited their son and his amazing family who reside in Sakuradai, Nerima. Their granddaughter was dressed in a traditional Kimono ready for a short train ride to the town of Oizumi to take part in the celebration. Added to the excitement was her Japanese grandparents and their entourage playing traditional drums with many people taking part in traditional dancing. Small kiosks offered tasty treats at a reasonable price, making the entire evening a joyful occasion a wonderful experience.
