If you thought the Hunt-Lowther triplets arriving on their brother's birthday was a rare coincidence, meet mom Jody Howse and her fiancé, Leslie Oake. Incredibly, on December 13, 2014, the Burin, Newfoundland couple found themselves in the exact same situation - welcoming triplet boys on the same day their son turned three.

At the time, Jody says she wasn’t thrilled by the prospect of delivering the babies on her son Parker’s big day.

“The doctor had come in and he said, ‘Nope, we can’t wait any longer.’ I said, ‘What do you mean we can’t wait any longer? Give me another day!’” recalls Jody. But a pregnancy complication meant delivery couldn’t wait, and just like that, three healthy bundles of joy - Zackary (4 lbs 10 ozs), Ryder (3 lbs 11 ozs) and Wyatt (3 lbs 7 ozs) - arrived six weeks early, becoming birthday buddies with their older brother.

Nowadays, Jody and Megan share a special bond. Since they found out about each other’s stories shortly after Megan gave birth, Jody says they’ve been in touch daily.

“I sent her kids Christmas gifts and when my boys outgrow clothes I send it into her. It’s nice to have somebody else that knows what I’ve went through and I can give her advice as to what’s coming up,” says Jody. “We’ve got each other and that makes things so much better.” - By Ashley Miller
