A Little Colour on a Rainy Day (2399 views) A little shed/museum in Durrell, NL. You quickly forget living away that people can be so friendly. This is a must see. It is well worth the time. I would say it is Newfoundland at its best. The owner is a fantastic guy who will welcome you to talk or take a few pictures. He even made me promise to come back for the iceberg season. Well worth the stop.
Bakeapple Iceberg
Bakeapple Iceberg is a beautiful fruit wine with the distinct taste of the famed local berry, also called Newfoundland Gold. Bakeapples are picked from their natural growing fields, bogs and low-lying areas all over the province. The berries produce a golden-hued wine that can be sipped after dinner or drizzled over ice cream.
This church is in Fogo. My grandfather, Harvey Ginn, was baptized in this church, many years ago. The home that my grandfather was raised in sat at the foot of Brimstone Head. The house may be gone, but we are still able to visit the water well where they drew their water from.
