I followed it for a short distance until it spotted me and retreated into the bush. I walked to where it disappeared and then noticed in the corner of my eye movement. It was the lynx staring out at me from under the safety of a fir tree. The longer I stayed taking photos the closer it approached me, until finally this lynx walked beside me back to where I left my dual purpose bike. I’ve returned to the same area numerous times but it seems the lynx has moved to another location. ... Hide full submission

Appears rather tame compared to the 2 that i seen this past summer, almost as if it was waiting for humans to feed it.

Wow, amazingly confident!!! I like both cats and wildlife, so the lynx is my favorite. However I never seen one in nature, some day I hope. But the fact that lynx can live quietly without beeing seen or rarely is also convenient for me.
As the cat use to do, I think that, at the begining, the lynx was purging himself by eating grass; Which one, meadowsweet or something else close ?

About three years ago (Sept or Oct) I saw a lynx one evening near Doyle's in the Codroy Valley. It was sitting at the edge of the TCH staring across at a cabin. It sprang across in front of my vehicle, and didn't touch down until after the yellow line. Amazinly high on it's legs.
I once heard that someone said to an old trapper that he'd never seen a lynx even after a lifetime of trecking through the woods. The old guy said, "don't worry, they saw you".

This is our most popular wine. It is made with wild Newfoundland low-bush blueberries, bursting with flavour and rich with vitamin C and anti-oxidants. The berries produce a beautiful ruby-coloured wine. Serve chilled.
Two adult ducks and 8 ducklings passed by our cabin most of the summer, going west in the morning and back east in the evening, almost the same time every day. Anybody know why they travel like this?
A pair of grey jays are regular visitors at my cabin at Northwest Arm just outside Glovertown, Bonavista Bay. They are bold enough to come to the window and beg for food. But we don't mind, we enjoy having them around!
Spending time at the cabin is all the more pleasureable with a visit from our friends the Jays. They are tame enough to eat out of your hand - and they keep coming back for more. They are tame enough to eat out of your hand - and they keep coming back for more. I recorded this at my cabin at Northwest Arm just outside Glovertown, Bonavista Bay. There are two grey jays who are regular visitors to my cabin and as soon as they know we're there they make an appearance on my patio waiting for a handout. I even have pictures of them stealing from a can of nuts I left on the patio! The hand in the pic is mine! ... Hide full submission
