Multiple forms of instant communication in the modern world make the old-fashioned postcard of yesteryear seem even more charming. Tattered edges help tell the stories behind their postal journey between loved ones, while the messages on the reverse still speak to us today.
Postcard from World War l (1 comments)
This is a postcard that was sent by my grandfather Chesley Green of Harry's Harbour to his mother Elizabeth Mary (King) Green. He served in WWI, was injured in France and spent 18 months in hospital in England before being discharged back home.
I found this in Mom's room after she passed away in 2001.
Thought I had sent it in before - if so, sorry. If not, maybe someone from his family may like to have it. Sure hate to just throw it away. ... click to read moreI found this in Mom's room after she passed away in 2001.

A picture of the old Newfoundland Hotel. I walked past it every day years ago on my way to and from work.

The beach near our house!
I was bored one cold and blustery day in December 2009, and I decided to take the camera to the beach near my house. It was so cold that the ocean spray was freezing to the rocks as fast as the waves were crashing up against them!
