The One That Did Not Get Away!
While on a fishing trip with Skipper Tailor at Cupids on Aug 13, 2011, Ian caught this beautiful 33 pound, 42 inch long cod fish. Ian was using a spinner with one hook that he made from a bracket that belongs to a hospital bed that he modified. What a spinner.

I (Ford Mitchelmore) took the picture. The man on the left is my father (Stewart Mitchelmore), age 77, and the woman on my right is my mom (Pearl Mitchelmore), age 75. Mom caught these two beautiful fish in one haul, but recalls when fish were much larger. She remembers a time when she was about 15 years old and she and her father (Leonard Mclean) were hauling a trawl, and there was a big fish on just about every hook. Big as seals, she described them, and they needed a gaff to get them up over the wharf. My dad also recalls a time when fish were bigger, and far more plentiful. Like when they would haul their cod trap day after day, and bring in up to 50 quintals a haul. We had an excellent day and caught our 15 fish in about an hour. ... Hide full submission

Fishing off Triangle, Labrador
Taken off the Cape in Traingle, Labrador during the food fishery a couple of years ago. Both my husband and I went out in boat but I caught the first one of the day.
