Naval Yawl Pickle
Pickle was a 69-foot racing yawl belonging to the Canadian Navy. It was once owned by the German Navy but was seized as a war prize after the war and eventually made its way to Canada.
I found this message in a bottle a couple of years ago on the shore to the lighthouse in Bonavista. I lost the letter but located this photograph in my files. Through Facebook I made contact with the young lady just last week. She was very happy to see it and it brought back some fond memories.

This is a picture of my great grandparents' (John Mayo and Martha Jane Foote) home and boat in Foote's Cove, Pardy's Island off Marystown, late 1800s or early 1900s.
