Our family, from Witless Bay, N.L. and Kitimat, B.C., went whale watching with "Witless Bay EcoTours" and it was the most amazing experience. This humpback stayed and played around for us for nearly an hour. My stepdaughter, Abbey, and my niece, Kiera, had never seen whales this close before and it will be a memory they will cherish forever.
My fiance, stepdaughter and I spent the afternoon at Cape Spear, NL and before heading up the stairs to the lighthouse, we saw whales. I just had time to focus my camera and this humpback breached, just the once. It was amazing!
Taken from the deck of our house in Witless Bay. After many attempts, he finally managed to get on the rock and then stayed there for the rest of the day sunning himself.
I guess it's not only adults that can enjoy a little R & R in the sun. We found our dog, Sassey enjoying a nice sunny day on our lounger. Our 7-year-old daugher, Abbey, put a pair of sunglasses on her and then snapped this pic.
7-year-old Abagail Fitzpatrick, visiting Conception Bay South from Florida, thought long and hard about kissing a cod to become an "unofficial" Newfoundlander.
