When my pop was four or five years old, he and his mother stopped in to my nan's mom's house on the other side of the Cove to visit and see the new baby, which was my nan. While pop was there he rocked Nan in her cradle. When they were to leave, Pop cried to his mom that he wanted to take the baby home. So many years later I remember Nan telling me that a bunch of kids were hanging out at someone's house or an arcade in the Cove and this guy wanted to date Nan that night, but Nan wanted to date Pop, but Pop dated someone else. Nan told me she was poisoned it worked out that way. Then some years later again my nan and pop started dating and married each other in ????. Nan told Pop of that night that she wanted to date him and he said you should have told me. My nan and pop were married over 50 years. They looked after each other and cared for each other for all those years. I can't remember Nan and Pop ever arguing, unless they were going to be late for church and then bingo afterwards. They raised five children together and have 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Nan died in 2001 and Pop died nine months later, not being able to go on without his baby he brought home. (I have access to all the correct dates and amount of times that each incident occurred if I am choosen as a winner of this contest. I also have pictures of long ago and present times.) Thank you for reading my story. - Karen Hatch ... Hide full submission
