Today, due to my own work as a business instructor at Japanese companies I find myself even further afield...in Numazu, Japan. Funny place for a Newfoundlander, you might say, but there are quite a few of us around everywhere doing all kinds of jobs. A few years back I started painting to fill the time during the monsoon season here which seems to go on forever (like the cod moritorium). I showed a few of them off to locals and they liked them so I made more. My sister-in-law, Mary Dunphy, was voted best realistic artist in Newfoundland for 2008 and she has been encouraging me to keep at it. Anyway, as time went along I started selling them on the Internet and they have been finding homes in Tokyo; London, England; Ireland and other spots. So, since I love reading the Downhome magazine, I figured you might want to see one.
Surprising what you can do when you sets your mind to it isn't it?
