Where was the government cheques when we were raising our children. With two children I was getting $22.00 per month. I think it's a disgrace that they are getting this much money. Get out and work for it like we had to do. Smarten up, this is just another form of welfare while the rest of us are forced to work to pay for others that refuse to.
omg.. good work, bro
i am gonna show this to my friend, brother
Anyone that thinks a $1000 will cover the cost of a newborn child has ever had chilren before. This is a great way to help new parents ensure their children have the necessities that all children deserve. And for those families that are not struggling, there a few that would tell you $1000 would not be helpful.
I think this is all a crock!!!! Alot of people would do anything for money, but have anyone thought of adoption rates increasing? there are more things the money can go towards, what happens when the baby turns 1?
OH GOD COME ON, THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE IN THIS PROVINCE WHO WOULD GLADLY EXCEPT THE MONEY IF THE OPPERTUNITY AROSE.I THINK IT IS A GREAT IDEA TO HELP OUT OUR OWN.WHEN A COUPLE ARE EXPECTING A NEW BABY( PLANNED OR NOT PLANNED)IT IS SUPPOSTED TO BE A GLORIOUS TIME,AND NEVER THE LESS IT IS EXPENSIVE AT THE FIRST WITH ALL THE INITIAL COST.MOST OF THE PEOPLE I KNOW DON'T GET PREGNANT FOR EXTRA CASH, SURE THERE ARE THAT FEW WHO WILL DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING FOR MONEY. BUT COME ON HAVING A BABY IS A BIG RESPONSIBILTY! IF ANYONE HAS ALREADY GONE THROUGH HAVING A CHILD THEY WOULD KNOW THAT THE FIRST FAMILY ALLOWANCE(AS MOST CALL IT)DOESN'T TAKE AFFECT UNTIL MONTHS AFTER THE BABY IS BORN AND THEN PROOF OF BIRTH HAS TO BE SENT AND PROCESSED.THIS BABY BONUS IS A GREAT WAY TO OFSET ALL THE COST ONE HAS TO ENDURE WHILE WAITING FOR THIS MONEY!I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY OUR PEOPLE OF THIS PROVINCE DOESN'T JUST EMBRASE THE FACT THAT AT LEST THE MONEY IS BEING SPENT TO HELP THE PEOPLE OF THIS PROVINCE GET OF TO A GREAT START(THE TIME OF BIRTH).I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD THINK A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE FUTURE PEOPLE OF THIS PROVINCE "OUR CHILDREN" SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE LIKE SO MANY BEFORE. THAT'S JUST MY THOUGHTS!
By the time you read this, I may have already mailed in my applications for both Newfoundland and Labrador's Progressive Family Growth Benefit (a tidy lump sum of $1,000) and the accompanying Parental Support Benefit program (12 monthly payments of $100). Naturally. I'm not the sort of fertile woman to loo...

On the surface, the $2,200 tax-free, one-shot deal the Williams government is promising every family who has a baby or adopts a child from January 8, 2008, onward looks like a good thing. It appears the provincial government is attempting to boost a low birthrate that saw 8.5 babies per 1,000 people born in 20...
