My granddaughter snuggled into my lap one day and asked me, "Grandma, how many children do you have?" When I answered "five" and recounted the names, she said, "Oh my, Grandma, you must be a slow learner."

"Why do you say that?" I asked.

"Well," she said, "I asked Mommy one day why I was the only child and she told me that after I was born, she was a fast learner and realized one was enough."
