Ashley Avery, a student at Memorial University in St. John’s, is one of 64 young women from around the world in the running for the title of 2011 World Miss University – an annual international beauty contest held in Seoul, South Korea. The event was created in correspondence with the United Nation’s resolution of 1986, celebrating the International Year of Peace.

Ashley, 22, is a Clarenville native and a fifth year business student. Her ambition is to be a successful lawyer and to one day operate her own law firm. The winner of the contest will be announced on December 15. To cast your vote, click here.
