We've received some pretty great animal shots from readers over the years – some wild and ferocious, others hilariously funny, and some that make you go "awww." Then there are animal photos that leave your mouth hanging wide open. The following photos are of the latter variety. We've collected photos of odd couples – animals that just don't look like they "go together." When they say "opposites attract," is this what they had in mind?

"The chocolate Lab in the picture is my father-in-law's dog," writes submitter Corina Baughman. "His name is Sam, and the woodchuck you see eating a carrot is his best friend. These two became quite the pair over the summer, grabbing all the attention from the guests at Bow Narrows fishing camp in Red Lake, Ontario. We rescued the little woodchuck, who was left by his mom, and he became part of the team at the camp. He was quite the little tourist attraction, let me tell you. He now thinks of himself as a dog, too! The question is, does Sam really like the woodchuck or is he just waiting for him to drop his carrot? He's a Lab! He's only in it for the food!"

Got My Goat

"This is Misty, our part-Clydesdale horse and Sunny, our pygmy goat in the backyard. They are both very kind and love attention," writes Shirley George of Whiteway, Newfoundland.

Loving Lizard

Despite one having fur and the other sporting scales, this cat and lizard get along like two peas in a pod. (Pamela Correia photo)

Hot to Trot

In its stylin' leopard print coat, this itty-bitty chihuahua fears no one - not even this approaching moose! (Jan Boone photo)
